You pay
us “as you go” in advance for each phase. We provide you with a written
estimate of the services which are likely to be necessary in your case prior to you signing our contract. We get paid as each segment of our work progresses. Every
time that we enter a new phase of work, we will ask for your authorization to proceed with the work. For the reasons discussed in the next section, once a segment of work has been authorized, the fee for
that segment of work becomes fixed and the fee becomes non-refundable. The fees
are fixed which means that they will not be increased or decreased after the fee is quoted and paid. The only exceptions to this practice are repeat visits for failed capacity assessments and when a case
fails due diligence review. In such a case, you may elect to have us perform
additional hourly services to clear up any issues, you may elect to work yourself to clear up the issues, or you may
elect to discontinue work on the case. Otherwise, all our fees are fixed in advance. As we progress through each phase of the case if the items necessary in the next phase
change, that is are different than initially anticipated, we will inform you, and get both your authorization to proceed and
payment before proceeding.
We provide
fee estimates on a menu of fees. As we progress, we simply decide whether or not a particular service is called for
in your engagement and select that service for inclusion in our authorized services.
Of course,
Medicaid cases are particularly subject to the reality that a client may pass away while we are in process at any particular
phase of our work. We do not offer refunds in this circumstance. Indeed, in many cases, we are still able to apply
for benefits for payment to the Estate or Family. Each case varies.
